Well here is the resulting 3D animated loop. It's not particularly inspiring but I think it might have been harder to make had I not tried it out the motion beforehand with Animanatee. Now I need more to practise more in 3DS Max so I can try to actually enhance the character of my hand-drawn animations.
So anyway, here're a few more little DS animations for your viewing pleasure...if you have a DS I would highly recommend this excellant application. In fact, if you like drawing or animation at all, it is worth purchasing yourself a DS simply for Animanatee and Colors alone.

Little doodle by John and I... hence different pen thicknesses..

Copied from Richard William's 'Animator's Survival Kit'. I think I exaggerated the up and down on her hair too much, considering the amount of bounce. When studying this run I was intrigued that he didn't make her passing position as the 'up' position. This makes for a very gentle jog, where she begins to fall almost as soon as her back foot leaves the ground. It has a kind of floaty, rotoscoped quality. I've only got the book (not the accompanying DVDs) so I don't know how it compares to his original.

Mr. Black-hole Chasing Man, animated by John! Not bad for an amateur pah haah...

A horse that I started to animate but then stopped when I decided that four legs of blind animating felt too much like hard work. (Apparently Animanatee has onion-skinning for both "previous" and "next" frames now)

Well I've got a few other bits and pieces but I'd rather post them up when they're more complete... a new wacky idea for a Flash game that mgiht hopefully contain lots of really fun anim cycles... so watch this space I guess! Oh yes and if anyone has a clue for how to get the html working so that they loop, enlighten me please :)
